Sahibzada Muhammad Meboob Sultan, the Federal Minister for Ministry of States and Frontier Regions is a veteran politician. His responsibilities include policy matters relating to the ex-States which merged with or acceded to Pakistan and Afghan refugees in Pakistan. There are 1.43 million registered Afghan refugees in Pakistan managed through the Chief Commissionerate of Afghan refugees at the national and Afghan Refugees Commisionerates at the provincial level. In addition to the responsibilities of these Commissionerates and the Ministry, the Federal Minister attends to policy matters at Cabinet level while responding to the Parliament and its Standing Committees. He has thrice been elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan. In the past he has also served as the Federal Minister for National Food Security. He was educated at prestigious institutions and belongs to a prominent spiritual and political family of Jhang District.
