Currently serving as Pakistan’s High Commissioner in Sri Lanka, Maj. Gen. (r) Khattak has an experience of 35 years of military career spread over operational, training, leadership and managerial assignments in different sets of environments both in and outside Pakistan. He has also remained actively involved in security and counter terrorism operations in Balochistan and FATA, and has worked on security and counter terrorism related issues in the region in general and Pakistan and Afghanistan in particular, that has provided him a unique insight into the War on Terror. Major General Khattak was also part pf the UN mission in Somalia 1993-1994, and was part of the famous US soldiers rescue operation by Pakistani forces, also narrated in the film “Black Hawk Down”.
