The world’s most powerful particle collider, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), is set to function from July this year. It was built by the European Organization for Nuclear Research located in Geneva. The Large Hadron Collider is a giant, complex machine built to study particles, the smallest known building blocks of all things.  Three years after it was shut down for maintenance and upgrades, the collider was switched back recently.
